Domaine Gilles Morat, Aux Vignes Dessus, Gilles Morat, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé, Burgundy, France, 2013

92
Gilles Morat took over part of the family domaine in 1997 and has since been buying up small plots on great terroirs around Vergisson in Mâcon. Today he has 17 parcels totalling 6ha. This is a charming wine of purity and elegance. Minerality is at the fore with lime and leaf characters, real depth and leesy notes on the palate and a fresh finish. Stocks are low, so snap this up.

Chanterêves, Guillaume and Tomoko, St-Romain, Burgundy, France, 2013

91
This is the fourth vintage from Tomoko Kuriyama and Guillaume Boot, who trained as oenologists in Rheinghau and Beaune respectively. Neither owns vines so they work closely with growers, buying then vinifying grapes in their new chai in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Subtle and elegant nose of limes and minerality. Nice tension on the palate with crisp acidity and round white fruit. Fine depth and precision. Definitely a name to watch.
